Good news! In the Shenyang Station of the WE Oriental MUN Meeting held from December 4th to 12th, CISS representative Lincoln (Jiang Chenglinkuan) is awarded as "Best Delegate".
Model United Nations, or MUN for short, originated in the United States and is a long-standing student activity. It is a academic simulation of the United Nations General Assembly and other multilateral institutions, and is a civic education activity organized for young people. In Model United Nations, young students get familiar with the operations of the United Nations and other multilateral deliberative institutions, basic international relations and diplomatic knowledge, and understand the impact of major events in the world on their future, and understand the role they can play in the future. After more than 60 years of development, Model United Nations have taken the world by storm, with participants ranging from college students to high school students, and even junior middle school students. This activity not only helps students think and discuss problems with an international perspective, but also places high demands on students' language and writing skills. Participating students need to consciously use English to express themselves. At the same time, they need to closely integrate political, economic, historical and geographic knowledge with the issues to be discussed at the meeting, and consider the connections between various elements. This is conducive to breaking the barriers between disciplines and forming a full and complete knowledge system.
In the Shenyang Station of the WE Oriental MUN Meeting this time, many outstanding students from Shenyang and Liaoning are invited to participate. Their age ranges from 13 to 18 years old. Some of them have already obtained offers from prestigious universities. CISS student Lincoln is the youngest of all representatives. At the end of the meeting, four awards of "Best Delegate", "Outstanding Delegate", "Honorable Mention" and "Best Position Paper" are selected. Lincoln stood out among many contestants and won the "Best Delegate " -the most important award and also a gavel. The award is indeed not easy to win.
This is not only the honor for Lincoln himself, but also reflects the high standard of CISS international education.
