2019 CISS Successfully Completed the First Summer Camp Term

    On July 24, the first term of CISS summer camp was completed successfully. All the campers were reluctant to say goodbye to their teachers and fellows as they were full of joy and good memories.

   This is the second cycle of English summer camps held by CISS since the establishment of the school last year. Our aim is to have students sharpening their English skills, learning how to solve problems, and also promoting their social skills.

  This time,CIS Shenyang’s summer camp was lucky to count with the collaboration of Dr. Sajid, from CIS Beijing, as a Math teacher and Dr. Sabate, from CIS Shenyang, as an English teacher. Moreover, we counted with the support of four undergraduates from Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada, that helped them both as teaching assistants. 

  Together, these professionals organized a variety of inviting events and activities that greatly engaged the students during the summer camp, including group activities, problem solving activities, field trips, environment protection activities, and cultural activities.These activities were designed following the IB education spirit of social awareness and international mindedness, this is how weeducate young leaders at CIS.

    During the summer camp, the business schoolundergraduates from Wilfrid Laurier University were able to engage the students into learning basic business skills and key elements by presenting a  short simulation course. Furthermore, they offered some information and advices for university application to our older students.

  During the closing ceremony, there were speeches from the camp coordinators, Dr. Sabate and Dr Sajid, and performances from the students that showcased their particular skills and talents, such as English speaking, dancing, singing, piano playing, and drum playing. This clearly reflects the CIS Shenyang commitment to the development of the arts following the IB program’s principles. In the end, all the campers had the opportunity to express their deep gratitude to all the summer camp teachers and staff by performing the song “We are the world” in English as the closing act.

Song 《Love Scenario》Performers: Anna、Angela (ages 13 and 14)

Drum performance 《24k Magic》Performers: Eric Wang (age 12)

Song 《You Are My Sunshine》Performers: Alice、Cindy、Lisa、Penny (ages 9, 8, 6 and 6)

The closing ceremony ended with the song of《We Are The World》performed by all the campers (ages 4 to 16)
