Canadian Thanksgiving Day celebration at CISS

With a strong feeling of gratitude, we celebrated together the Canadian Thanksgiving in the traditional way——a feast for children of the Canadian International School of Shenyang (CISS)

  Being thankful is a positive attitude for our life, and it is also a kind emotion. In order to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving on October 14, Canadian International School of Shenyang (CISS) held a Thanksgiving dinner party in the school dining room, which was attended by all the students and teachers of the school and some of our estimated parents.

    First of all, Ms. Duan Yuna, executive director of the school, and Mr. Alan Norman, principal of the school, delivered heartwarming speeches of gratitude. They thanked the parents, teachers and students present, and explained to us the origin and tradition of the Canada's Thanksgiving Day - Celebrating the harvest and being grateful for the food and goods received. What made this celebration very special and rich is not only the delicious food presented to us, but also the CISS family that that we have created and that connects us so closely. The continuous growth of CISS cannot be separated from the support of parents and the efforts of our teachers. It is CISS's primary goal to make students always feel grateful, learn to appreciate others and provide a harmonious international living environment for students, which is also the campus culture concept advocated by IB world school.

Our head of the school, Mr Alan Norman, also expressed special thanks to the students in grades 1,2,3,4 and 5， as well as the children in our kindergarten,who carefully arranged the entire restaurant with their paintings and handmade creations.Thanks totheir efforts an atmosphere of love and gratitude was created in the whole restaurant, which spread throughout the campus anspirit of Canadian Thanksgiving.

All the students dressed neatly and eat in order, from the youngest to the oldest, enjoying Turkey, pumpkin pie and other delicacies, which also showcased the good image and superb quality of CISS students.

The teachers, students and parents of the school engaged and cooperated actively in this activity, enhancing the unity of the school. Although this activity wasnot very long, the gratitude that was inspired will be kept in our minds and hearts for the months to come until we celebrate our next Canadian Thanksgiving next year.
